Here we are in 2019! It’s kind of crazy to think about but the year has begun. We are going to start off 2019 with a guitar lesson on a classic rock favorite, Slow Ride. A lot of our beginner guitar students get to the point where they can strum through open chords songs in a matter of months. At some point we have to transition them to songs that are more riff based to help further develop their skills. While playing open chord songs can provide a lifetime of fun we strive to push our students to get to the next level in their guitar playing by encouraging them to take on some harder songs. Classic songs that have riffs, single notes, and open chords are exactly what beginner guitar students need to help them get to the next level in their playing. In this lesson we break down each section note by note. Because we are keeping this lesson as beginner level as possible I left out all of the major lead lines. I know what you are thinking, “those are best parts.” We are leaving out those parts so that any beginner guitar player can still learn to play this awesome classic rock song. The rhythm guitar parts are a great foundation for any beginner and at some point we will go back and make another video breaking down each lead line as well. Until then enjoy this free lesson.
